When MyNotchBar is the relevant alternative
If you want a notch utility you can buy once on the Mac App Store, with Simplified and Traditional Chinese, on macOS 13 or later, MyNotchBar is a paid option. It is not a free NotchNook, and the feature lists do not match item for item.
As of Oct 2026, NotchNook is sold at getnotchnook.com, not on the Mac App Store. The table below only lists facts each side has published. There is no combined score.

What overlaps, and what does not
Both can park files near the notch, show music, and use the camera as a mirror. NotchNook also lists calendar, notes, to-dos, and timers. MyNotchBar does not. MyNotchBar has clipboard history and file filters, and it is a one-time buyout on the Mac App Store.
If calendar and to-dos are the features you need, the table says NotchNook lists them and MyNotchBar does not. If App Store checkout, Simplified Chinese, and macOS 13 come first, MyNotchBar matches that, at US$3.99, not at zero.
What this comparison leaves out
This page does not repeat scores from MacUpdate, Product Hunt, or anywhere else, and it does not repeat a buyer count. Those figures appear on NotchNook’s own homepage. They are not an independent tally checked here.
It also does not discuss license-server outages or company-control disputes. What can be checked is the purchase page at getnotchnook.com and a stated requirement of macOS 14.6 or later, as of Oct 2026.
