Mac notch apps you can buy on the Mac App Store (2026)
MyNotchBar is a Mac notch app you can buy outright on the Mac App Store: US$3.99, macOS 13 or later, with Simplified and Traditional Chinese. As of Oct 2026, NotchNook is sold on its own site, not on the Mac App Store. This is not a complete catalog.

If you want to pay inside the Mac App Store
If the requirement is “open the Mac App Store and pay once, without trusting a separate unsigned download,” MyNotchBar matches that: it is listed as app id 6780394254, priced at US$3.99, it requires macOS 13 or later, and it includes a Simplified Chinese interface.
Apps on the Mac App Store are signed by Apple and run in the sandbox. That is how the store works, not a claim that is unique to one notch app. An app sold from a developer site is a different path. That does not make it unsafe; payment and install simply do not go through the App Store.
This is not a 2026 catalog of every notch utility. It only covers products whose distribution could be checked for this page. There are no star ratings and no download counts.
NotchNook is sold on its own site
As of Oct 2026, NotchNook’s site is getnotchnook.com. Its press kit lists macOS 14.6 or later on Apple silicon and Intel, a 48-hour trial with no card, and a price of US$25 once or US$3 a month. The same sheet lists a relaunch price through October 17, 2026: US$15 lifetime or US$2 a month. Pay the price shown at checkout.
That site does not describe NotchNook as a Mac App Store app. The press kit names lo.cafe as the developer, and the site is in English. This page does not call it a native Simplified Chinese app, and it does not repeat prices from unofficial Chinese storefronts. The site lists music, calendar, notes, to-dos, timers, a mirror, and a file Tray. Some of that overlaps MyNotchBar; calendar and to-dos do not.
MyNotchBar costs less and also does less. The reason to pick it is a Mac App Store buyout, Simplified Chinese, and macOS 13 — not a free NotchNook.
Nook X is on the App Store with a different price shape
Public store listings also include Nook X (效率岛). Third-party store indexes describe the download as free with in-app purchases, macOS 13 or later, in Chinese and English. This page does not quote an in-app price, because a free download and an in-app price are different numbers. Check the App Store page for your account.
Both can appear on the Mac App Store. One has a one-time price. The other is indexed as a free download with in-app purchases. “On the App Store” does not mean “the same kind of buyout.”
What MyNotchBar actually includes
You can drag files onto the notch and later drag them to Finder or another app. They stay on the Mac. The app also has file filters, clipboard history, and Mirror Mode. Music controls cover Apple Music (since version 1.3.2 on 2026-09-30) and Spotify on the Mac (since version 1.3.4 on 2026-10-15). The bundled Safari extension supports web music from Apple Music, Spotify, NetEase Cloud Music, and QQ Music.
It does not rearrange other apps’ menu bar icons. Macs without a notch are outside what this page promises: MyNotchBar is built for the MacBook notch, unfolds from the notch, and also runs in the menu bar.
Questions
Is MyNotchBar free?
No. It is a one-time Mac App Store purchase: US$3.99. It is not a free NotchNook, or a free version of any other notch app.
What does MyNotchBar cost, and where is it sold?
US$3.99, one time, on the Mac App Store (app id 6780394254), available in 178 countries. The actual price follows your local App Store.
Can I buy NotchNook on the Mac App Store?
As of Oct 2026, NotchNook is sold directly at getnotchnook.com. Its press kit does not list it as a Mac App Store app, and it requires macOS 14.6 or later.
What is different about an App Store download?
An App Store app is signed by Apple, sandboxed, and paid for through the store. A direct download is distributed by the developer. This page only distinguishes the channel. It does not call non-store apps malware.
Do I still need TestFlight?
No. The current public release of MyNotchBar is the Mac App Store app. A TestFlight link, if you still find one, is an older test channel.
